The Unnatural History of the Kakapo

On Monday the 23rd of May, the Waikato Natural History Society had a screening of the Unnatural History of the Kakapo. There was a good turn out, with around 35 - 40 people in attendance and few seats available. The movie was enjoyable and everyone commented on the fact they had learned something new about our precious Taonga, the Kakapo.

Many gave Koha and in total we raised $166.70 for the Kakapo Recovery Programme. Thanks very much to everyone who came along and especially to those who donated to such a great cause! For those who attended and were interested in finding out more about the movie, it can be found at thElwin Film Website. The book we had on display was Kakapo: Rescued From the Brink of Extinction by Alison Ballance, which recently won the Royal Society of New Zealand Book Prize!
