The Riverlea Environment Society is a non-profit organisation formed in 2007 by the residents of Riverlea, Hillcrest and Newell Road (on the southern-most border of Hamilton city). They work towards the protection and restoration of Hammond bush, an important ecosystem that supports a population of rare long-tailed bats (peka peka tou roa).
Date: 26th March 2011
Time: Meet at the university @ 12.30pm or at the Malcolm street end of the boardwalk @ 1pm.

This is a great organization and great way for you to help out in the local community. If you'd like to attend then please email Kimberley or the Waikato Natural History Society for more information.
These working bees are held on the last Saturday of every month so if you can't make this one, head along to the next!
